Pre-qualified riders confirmed for 2016 KENDA Tennessee Knockout
The sixth annual KENDA AMA Tennessee Knockout, presented by Moose Racing and SRT, will take place on August 20-21, 2016. KTM’s Cody Webb (@codywebb2) won an epic battle with the UK’s Jonny Walker (jonnywalker_22) to take the 2015 TKO title. Webb will face stiff competition for the 2016 event as a huge list of the top off-road racers from around the world have vowed to challenge Webb for the largest piece of the $10,000 purse.
The KENDA AMA Tennessee Knockout uses a unique four-round Knockout race format that is challenging for the riders and entertaining for the fans. The amazing Trials Training Center facility allows for easy access to the race action.
The top five finishers at the previous TKO events have included riders from EnduroCross, Trials, National Enduro, GNCC, WORCS and even the Enduro World Championship. So it is a great mix of backgrounds facing off on an extremely challenging course with a large purse on the line.
Pre-qualified riders get a free entry into the Sunday program. These riders earn an invite based top results in several major US or International off-road motorcycle race events. On Saturday, those riders that did not already earn an invite can challenge themselves on the course with the top finishers earning their own invite to the Sunday Knockout rounds.
The following riders have earned invites for the 2016 KENDA Tennessee Knockout:

Pre-Qualified Riders Confirmed for 2015 KENDA Tennessee Knockout
The fifth annual KENDA AMA Tennessee Knockout, presented by Moose Racing and SRT, will take place on August 15-16, 2015. Cody Webb took his second straight win in 2014 after finishing second to Tennessee native Mike Brown the previous two years. Both riders are expected to be back at the Trials Training Center in 2015 looking to take the biggest share of the $10,000 purse.
Webb, who is also the defending GEICO AMA EnduroCross Champion, will face a long list of challengers for the 2015 KENDA TKO title. FMF KTM’s Taylor Robert has finished second the past two years and is anxious to stand on the top step of the podium. And AmPro Yamaha’s Grant Baylor finished on the podium in his first attempt at the TKO in 2014 so he learned the terrain and will likely improve in 2015 as well. Current GNCC Champion Kailub Russell also made a first attempt at the TKO in 2014 and finished a disappointing 14th so you can be sure he will be looking to challenge for the podium as well.
These riders earn an invite based on:
- Qualifying for the main event at previous Tennessee Knockout events
- Finishing in the top 10 in the following championships in 2014: AMA EnduroCross Expert Championship, AMA/NATC National Trials Pro Championship, GNCC XC1 Championship, AMA National Enduro Pro Championship, WORCS Pro-1 Championship, and OMA Expert Championship
- Finishing in the top five of the 2014 GNCC XC-2 Championship
- Holding a top-five position in any of the above championships on August 1, 2015

Kenda Tennessee Knockout Extreme Enduro featured in January Dirt Rider magazine
The January 2012 issue of Dirt Rider magazine has a feature on the inaugural Kenda Tennessee Knockout Extreme Enduro held this past August here at the TTC. (See a pattern here?) Sean Finley at Digital Throttle put this PDF together to give you a glimpse. Here’s an excerpt:
Given the worldwide popularity of hard enduro, the Kenda Tennessee Knockout Extreme Enduro was proof that with the right organization, a good format, a difficult course and support from the top riders such an event can successfully be held on American soil. The rocky terrain surrounding the Trials Training Center was on par with the difficulty level of most hard enduros, and almost as soon as the event was over, the riders, teams and spectators were buzzing about a future edition of the race.

Kenda Tennessee Knockout Extreme Enduro featured in Dec. Dirt Bike magazine
The December 2011 issue of Dirt Bike magazine has 3 pages devoted to the inaugural Kenda Tennessee Knockout Extreme Enduro held this past August here at the TTC. Sean Finley at Digital Throttle put this PDF together to give you a glimpse. Excerpt:
When you think about extreme enduros and nasty off-road racing, Europe usually comes to mind. Here in the United States we’ve seen events like Last Man Standing and some National Enduros get pretty brutal, but for years the U.S. extreme off-road race scene has been dead. The inaugural Kenda Tennessee Knockout Extreme Enduro (TKO) in Sequatchie, Tennessee, brought extreme off-road racing right here to the States. It was rocky, it was brutal and we hope it is here to stay.
The article is not available online but you can get it by subscribing to Dirt Bike magazine here.

Cycle News features the Tennessee Knockout Extreme Enduro
Last week’s Cycle News (Sept. 7 issue) featured the Tennessee Knockout Extreme Enduro (TKO) in a 6-page feature titled TKO for Brown (pages 102-107) with many photos. An excerpt:
Brown led every lap of the final. He blasted to the front right off the start and opened up a small lead. Knowing any small mistake could mean disaster Brown rode conservatively and chose his lines carefully every lap.
Webb, however, had nothing to lose and went after Brown. The Beta rider had fallen in the first turn and was hammering it around the course. His aggressive riding style carried him right up to Brown late in the race. But when he was within striking distance on the last lap, Webb tipped over, which was just enough to give Brown some breathing room and eventual win.
After nearly 40 minutes of racing, Brown was happy to see the checkered flag. “Was tougher than anything I have ever done,” Brown said. “At the halfway mark, I thought I would not be able to finish, but I was leading so I kept pushing.”
